Whitehat whiteboard brainstorm, in five minutes.
Just a quick one, Friday night and all. Was listening to this podcast earlier, Unlimited Hangout with Whitney Webb on Apple Podcasts, the most recent on why not to trust Wellcome with transhumanist eugenics. Thing went for over two hours and my brain began to fade, would struggle to summarise contents in more than two sentences, which at a sentence per hour is, granted, poor productivity. I was also cooking dinner with wine, which was red, Shiraz in variety, Barossan in locale, proper, as usual.
Anyway, this is what I came up as an aside on the best translation for Truth. I am not saying the podcast was complete objectivity, don't have the knowledge to know, but as a case study it was a microcosm of what happens often when I engage media looking for what is true in any given field.
I retain very little of what I hear or read when it gets too technical. Yet it may be that what is being related is a vital contribution in the War on Truth. El problemo.
I have not the intellectual capacity nor concentration span to fully grasp much of what I consume, and I know the average deplorable would equally struggle with what comes across my desk. But my albeit limited teaching experience taught me, yes, about something the industry calls differentiation. Basically, teach to the middle but scaffold it for the battlers and provide extension material for the gifted and talented.
Combine that little insight with what I could already glean from message-medium pipe conduit analogies and I came up with this whiteboarded bedtime story for the fridge magnets.
Strategy: Get the best quality Truth to the greatest amount of people.
Tactic: If Truth were to be delivered by pipeline, think of these three logistical factors.
Volume
Pressure
Contamination
Volume covers how much Truth we can get to the masses, they're crying out for it, the fields are ripe etc, so quantity is an imperative. No MSM or Establishment talking head bottlenecks. There is almost unlimited demand, and a window of opportunity for delivering supply remains open for now via social media, though big State and tech oligarchs are openly working to shut it.
Pressure I translate as differentiation, i.e. depending upon capacity the information has to be tailored to suit. I thought of something like one, three of five bullet points. (It was actually 1-3-5 pages but upon reflection most folk's eyes nowadays will glaze over pretty quick unless it's snappy)
Contamination encompasses limitations imposed by human intellect, and what we Christians call sin - say pride, you know something to be true or likely true and an avenue worth exploring, but you won't concede the point in debate cause he's got your back up. Or your research organisation might cancel you, and there goes the mortgage and the kids' private school, the marriage tension you don't need. You want an easy run at the dinner party, don't you dear.
Whatever the topic, don't care, rocket science, if you're the bunny ears expert then learn how to reduce down the essentials of your field or latest finding to one three or five
bullet points. Or 1-3-5 A4 pages of bullet points if you insist.
I am not a knowledge expert, but I have learnt a thing or two about pedagogics and delivery. There is much written and said that will never be accessed and readily digested by those who could greatly benefit, and pass it on. Hence, it's just an exercise in vanity striding forth and warming to your own theme if most get left behind. Remember, nobody gets left behind.
I've encountered in person and at a distance so many people over the years who are incredibly technically knowledgeable in their field, yet lack the communication skills to deliver the key findings to the punters. Those who do tend to end up on the telly earning a sizeable crust.
My, one of, my earnest desires would be to see a David Attenborough type before he went woke supernaturalist series on Apologetics for mass consumption. From Cosmology to pre-history, current understandings of macro and micro evolution, ancient history with a hone in on Israel, the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus, the Church's influence since, done in the name of Christ, not religious politics and Machiavellian powerplays. Arguments for and against this being the end times as per the Book of Revelation.
All the best contributors, hostile neutral friendly doesn't matter, as close to that lofty hyperbolic title expert as can be ascribed to a human being limited by understanding, ego time and place. What's not to like.
